Wisdom and “The Way of Things”

We have all been hurt, harmed, or injured by one another in some way.  We all carry our inner wounding as both an individual anguish and as a societal collective.  The longer we hold onto it, the heavier it becomes.  And when we cannot put it down, we add it to the weight of the next generation.  It becomes an even more burdensome form of the very same weight that your caretakers placed upon you.

This is not about blame, or shaming, or creating feelings of guilt or regret.  There is no need to see this insight as something to add to your inner monologue for the purpose of beating yourself or anyone else up.  But if we aren’t going to start from an honest observation, how can we ever arrive at an honest answer?  Therefore we need to approach the question directly rather than recoil from it and take up our usual battleground positions in life.
