“I offer mental health and addiction counseling services that are grounded in trauma-informed contemplative and somatic practice, ongoing advances in modern neuroscience, and evidence-based models of psychological healing”
~Bradley Bemis, MS, LPCC, ADDC, NCC, CTP, CAIP, CLC
Welcome – and thank you for your interest in the possibility of working together. Choosing to work with a new therapist is a deeply personal and sometimes difficult decision; especially when considering the balance of vulnerability and trust that’s typically required to make progress toward your mental health goals. I want you to feel safe in our ability to connect, communicate, and relate as we work together – it’s the single-most influential factor in achieving positive clinical outcomes. Take a few moments to read about my approach and see if it might be a good fit for you.
In general, my approach is highly relational, empathetic, compassionate, pragmatic, and collaborative – all of which are essential qualities when working with adults and teens (age 15+) who are focused on overcoming anxiety, depression, trauma, or addiction-related challenges; often with additional concerns that tend to appear alongside these conditions. The therapeutic models, methods, and interventions I draw upon are deeply rooted in contemplative and somatic practice, modern neuroscience, and evidence-based models of psychological healing. From a clinical perspective, this includes cognitive behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectic behavior therapy, internal family systems therapy, relational-cultural therapy, psychedelic-assisted therapy, exposure therapy, somatic experiencing, motivational interviewing, and many more.
